DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
Are you an energetic individual with a passion for athletics Sampson County is currently seeking a dedicated professional focused on building community relationships to join our team.
Work Schedule:
Limited weekend work (3-6 weekends per year).
Enjoy flexible 4-day work week. Nightly coverage of athletic programs averaging 3-4 nights per week.
(Schedules are subject to change requiring approval by the supervisor each week)
Summer work schedule: Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM.
Consistent 40-hour work weeks.
13 paid holidays per year including one floating holiday.
Essential Job Functions:
Plan direct and promote competitive and non-competitive athletic programs for various age groups.
Youth programming includes Tackle Football Flag Football Volleyball Basketball Baseball Softball Sports Camps.
Recruit train and support volunteer coaches in rules and procedures of various sports.
Recruit train schedule communicate with and evaluate Part-Time Staff and Junior Youth Officials.
Manage inventory of all equipment ensuring proper maintenance and storage.
Prepare district schedules for staff and programming.
Conduct developmental clinics for youth ages six and under.
Officiate/Guide (5-9 yrs) in athletic programs
Evaluate recreation programming and incorporate innovative ideas to enhance programs.
Prepares athletic fields for play (Paint football field line baseball/softball field).
Open and close facilities with attention to detail.
Establish strong working relationships through impeccable customer service with volunteers participants and community citizens.
Coordinators assist management in developing and implementing a strategic plan and sets goals for the department.
Collaborate with maintenance staff to ensure the routine maintenance of district parks turning in work orders for facility upkeep.
County Issued Vehicle and cell phone for work duties.
Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Recreation Manager
Professional Development & Community Engagement:
Actively participate in workshops conferences and training sessions to stay updated on recreational programs trends and industry best practices.
5% salary increase for National Certification (CPRP/CPRE) after three years of continuous service
