In this leadership role youll oversee a team of Clinical Incident Officers and be responsible for conducting thorough investigations into clinical incidents tracking the progress and closure of related recommendations and ensuring best practice standards are effectively implemented.
Youll also provide clinical support and advice to internal stakeholders contribute to quality improvement activities and work collaboratively with operational teams and clients to offer feedback education and coaching around reported incidents and issues.
This role plays a key part in maintaining high standards of clinical governance and supports a proactive learning-focused approach to incident management.
Lets talk about you:
You will have demonstrated experience in leading or coordinating complex clinical incident investigations and a strong understanding of clinical risk management and quality improvement methodologies. (e.g. Root Cause Analysis London Protocol) The role demands a proven ability to engage effectively and empathetically with staff clients and external stakeholders. High-level interpersonal skills are critical particularly the ability to communicate in an exploratory and non-accusatory manner.
Advanced data analysis and trend interpretation skills are necessary to support strategic decision-making. A sound understanding of open disclosure principles and regulatory reporting obligations is also important. Excellent written communication skills are essential covering professional and objective correspondence report writing trend analysis and policy and procedure development.
Leadership experience is a key component of this role. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to lead and support a team provide coaching and guidance and foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Applicants must hold current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Health Practitioner. Formal training or certification in incident investigation risk management or quality improvement will be highly regarded.
