Job Summary
Were looking for a professional and customer-focused Assistant Restaurant & Bar Manager to join our team at Novotel Canberra! In this hands-on leadership role youll support the Food & Beverage Manager in running daily operations delivering outstanding service and maintaining high standards across the venue.
What Youll Be Doing:
- Help manage the day-to-day operations of the restaurant and bar
- Support and guide the team through training and supervision
- Assist with rostering and shift scheduling
- Contribute to menu planning and pricing
- Monitor and uphold quality standards in food and beverage service
- Support budgeting and cost control efforts
- Ensure compliance with health safety and hospitality standards
- Oversee inventory and stock control
- Manage cash handling and reconcile daily sales
- Respond to customer enquiries and feedback professionally
- Maintain a clean welcoming environment for guests
Qualifications :
- 23 years experience in restaurant or bar management
- Proven leadership and team supervision in hospitality
- Passion for delivering exceptional customer service
- Skilled in staff training and development
- Confident using POS systems and inventory software
- Solid understanding of food & beverage operations including menu planning and wine pairing
- Knowledge of Australian health & safety regulations
- Experience with budgeting and cost control
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Flexibility to work evenings weekends and public holidays
- Hospitality Management qualification (preferred)
- Current RSA certification
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
