Position Overview
The Superintendent is responsible for managing all field operations on assigned projects ensuring work is completed safely on schedule and within budget. This position oversees daily construction activities coordinates manpower materials and equipment and serves as the key on-site leader ensuring quality productivity and customer satisfaction. The Superintendent works closely with Project Managers and Foremen to deliver successful results and maintain OCPs commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage field operations on assigned construction projects.
- Coordinate manpower materials and equipment to maintain production efficiency.
- Provide leadership to Foremen and Build Team members to promote teamwork and positive morale.
- Ensure all work complies with project specifications company standards and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with Project Managers regarding schedule progress and field issues.
- Participate in implementing OCPs Lean initiatives and assist Foremen in developing job-specific best practices.
- Conduct regular job site walks with customers superintendent to resolve issues proactively.
- Ensure project cleanliness organization and completion of punch lists.
- Attend preconstruction and kickoff meetings to address job site readiness and logistics.
- Support and enforce OCPs safety program consulting with the Safety Director as needed.
- Assist with training mentoring and development of Foremen and Build Team members.
- Collaborate with Human Resources in field recruitment and workforce planning.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 35 years of experience in commercial construction with strong understanding of multiple trades.
- Proven ability to lead field teams and coordinate daily job site operations.
- Ability to read blueprints analyze project costs and monitor schedule performance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Plexxis or similar construction management software.
- Strong communication organizational and time management skills.
- OSHA 30-Hour Training required.
- Must be able to travel to assigned job sites throughout Central Ohio.
Working Conditions
This position involves frequent visits to active construction sites. The work environment may include exposure to outdoor elements loud noise and physical hazards typical of construction work. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required based on project needs.
