SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Truck Driver for supply is responsible for providing delivery services throughout the District. This position reports directly to the supervisor of supply.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

JOB FUNCTIONS:
Transfer equipment textbooks instructional aids supplies and programs between Elementary Secondary Special Education Community Education Central Administration and the Service Building
Deliver small parcels audio visual equipment musical instruments films and visual aids
Sort and distribute U.S. and interschool mail
Distribute time sheets and the payroll
Assist in other functions relative to the Supply Department including checking inventory etc.
Interact with co-workers administration students parents and the community in positive supportive and cooperative ways
Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED required
Must hold a Chauffeurs license or CDL as required by truck size
Must be able to operate minimum 6-ton vehicle equipped with hydraulic lift gate
Knowledge of Grand Rapids metropolitan area
Demonstrated good customer service skills
Previous experience operating material handling equipment preferred.
Demonstrated ability to pass any required physical drug or alcohol testing
Demonstrated good driving record.
Demonstrated good attendance and punctuality
Demonstrated ability to participate as a member of a team
Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision and ability to adjust/focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to moderate.

MENTAL FUNCTIONS:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to compare analyze communicate both orally and in writing copy coordinate instruct compute synthesize evaluate use interpersonal skills compile and negotiate.
