POSITION SUMMARY

TheMechanical Engineersupports new product development for the companys Thermal global products. The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the physical design and/or thermal system design of new products. This engineer must be a practical hands-on type of engineer who can start with an abstract concept and see it through to product launch.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creates/modifies mechanical Parts/Assemblies/drawings in CAD systems such as Creo and/or Solid Edge.
  • Create and maintain Bill of Materials and unit configurator logic to select the correct BOMs based on options selected by the customer.
  • Works with Marketing Manufacturing Service and Quality to understand their requirements to design a product that best meets all of their needs.
  • Assist with prototype builds by providing technical support and providing guidance when issues arise.
  • Gather feedback from prototype builds and field trials and implement appropriate improvements to the product.
  • Understands the products suggest ideas and improvements.
  • Assists with troubleshooting of escalated or re-occurring field issues.
  • Coordinate performance testing in the lab.
  • Analyze test data diagnose issues and determine changes to improve performance.
  • Thermal system modeling to determine performance and correct part selection.
  • Determine controls routines needed to make system operate optimally and to meet customer requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Basic working knowledge of mechanical and electrical concepts products and safety.
  • Basic mechanical CAD tools experience- Solid Edge Creo Solid Works.
  • Experience with Sheetmetal piping and assemblies is a plus.
  • Data-entry systems familiarity - Oracle Agile etc.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve (and prevent) a wide range of problems quickly and methodically.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Excellent planning organizing documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and operate in cross functional global development teams.

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to work in the lab or production facility to diagnose and solve problems.

TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED

  • Regular travel between Office/Lab and the production factory (both in Monterrey) and minimal travel (<5%) to customer sites.
