Follows manufacturer instructions and departmental procedures to ensure proper cleaning decontamination and preparation of surgical instruments and patient care equipment.
Collaborates with interdepartmental staff to prioritize workload meeting both daily schedules and urgent surgical needs.
Locates collects and prepares instruments for pickup or delivery including packaging for offsite locations as needed.
Maintains and operates decontamination and sterilization equipment in accordance with organizational regulatory and safety standards.
Monitors sterilization indicators and maintains accurate records for quality assurance and compliance.
Additional Job Description
Certification as a CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) through HSPA or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) through CBSPD required within two years of hire.
Strong attention to detail and adherence to infection control standards.
Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
Prior experience in sterile processing or related healthcare support preferred.
