An established Good primary in Guildford is recruiting a creative and compassionate Year 1 Teacher to join its KS1 team on a Full-Time basis from January 2026. About the role Year 1 Teacher
As the Year 1 Teacher you will deliver high-quality phonics guided reading and early writing lessons. The Year 1 Teacher will create an organised stimulating classroom where talk vocabulary and number confidence thrive. The Year 1 Teacher will use formative assessment to track progress and run targeted small-group interventions. This Year 1 Teacherrole is Full-Time and permanent and the school offers a strong induction package in January 2026.

Year 1 Teacher candidate profile
We seek a Year 1 Teacher with QTS strong KS1 practice and enthusiasm for phonics-led progress. The Year 1 Teacher should be confident managing behaviour positively and communicating with parents. The Year 1 Teacher will begin pre-term planning and induction before January 2026 attend training in January 2026 and lead the class as a Full-Time Year 1 Teacher from January 2026.
Contract details
This is a Full-Time Year 1 Teacher vacancy starting January 2026 with induction mentoring and CPD scheduled through January 2026 and beyond. The Full-Time Year 1 Teacher will have protected planning time and access to subject networks.
