Project Overview:
We are looking for a Senior IoT Developer to join our global engineering team supporting a leading retailers mission-critical Internet of Things (IoT) platform. The platform powers The Hive Manager - an advanced system responsible for monitoring and managing HVAC and refrigeration systems across worldwide facilities.
This role focuses on the IoT Edge component developing and optimizing Java-based applications that run on Linux-based edge devices. You will be working on a large-scale production-grade IoT deployment that directly impacts energy efficiency uptime and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

Design develop and maintain Java-based applications for IoT Edge devices running in Linux environments.
Optimize applications for performance reliability and security in resource-constrained edge systems.
Manage device connectivity data ingestion and communication protocols between edge devices and the cloud platform.
Collaborate closely with hardware platform and backend teams to ensure seamless end-to-end data flow.
Write clean modular and well-documented code following best practices.
Troubleshoot debug and resolve complex issues on distributed and remote edge devices.

Required Skills & Experience:

4 6 years of hands-on experience in Java software development.
Strong proficiency working in Linux environments including shell scripting and basic system administration.
Practical understanding of IoT and Edge Computing concepts.
Experience with IoT communication protocols such as MQTT CoAP or AMQP.
Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker for deployment and testing.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong interest in building production-grade edge systems.
