What she needs:

Prefer PHD but ok with someone with strong background in research and Python.
Need to have the Langchain Langgraph CrewAI
Stressed over and over she needs someone strong on the research side
Someone with a SW Engineering and Data Scientist role. Not looking for a Data Engineer doing pipelineing.
Need someone who has experience building frameworks
Need someone strong in building ML/AI applications (Strong Python)

What she has been seeing:

Candidates that were more Data Engineering doing Pipelining and not ML and Research
Does not need someone who does pipelineing
Been getting candidates that were more data engineering with a year (moving over to data science). This will not work

She said that she would consider someone 100% remote for the contract side and can be anywhere in the US but if offered an FTE role they would have to relocate to Charlotte NC. Prefers a US Citizen or GC as she would like to hire them on and they dont hold H1s.

What to look for:

Strong Research experience
Strong on Python
Strong on LangGraph LangeChain etc.
Someone who give examples of what they did in their projects
Prefer PHD with 3 years of research in a Data Science role or 5 years as a Data Scientist doing ML/AI App development and research
Someone with more technical development experience with research
Candidates talking about what they did and not just techbook answers.
