Jig Grinder

Job Title: Jig Grinder

The Jig Grinder will operate Moore G-18 or equivalent precision jig grinding machinery to produce components that meet exacting tolerances. This position requires the ability to read technical drawings and independently adjust machine controls to ensure part accuracy and conformance to specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings blueprints sketches and schematics before operations
  

• Set up and operate jig grinders efficiently and safely
  

• Adjust machine controls to regulate feeds speeds and dimensions
  

• Inspect machined parts using gauges and micrometers to ensure compliance
  

• Maintain equipment through cleaning and lubrication
  

• Comply with all safety standards and report safety issues as needed
  

• Follow production schedules and maintain accurate job tracking records
  

• Perform additional duties and support production needs as assigned (including occasional overtime)
  

Requirements

Required Skills & Abilities

• Proficiency in operating Moore G-18 jig grinders or similar machines
  

• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to hold tight tolerances (as precise as 0.0005")
  

• Familiarity with aerospace-grade materials and appropriate grinding speeds/feeds
  

• Proficient in using micrometers bore gauges depth gauges and other precision measuring tools
  

• Ability to interpret ASME Y14.5 standard drawings and specifications
  

• Excellent manual dexterity hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
  

• Clear oral/written communication and comprehension of English per FAA Part 145 regulations
  

• Must be willing to comply with FAA Part 120 drug and alcohol testing requirements
  

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required
  

• Minimum 5 years of direct jig grinding experience in a shop environment
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as climbing kneeling and lifting
  

• Frequently lift up to 50 pounds (occasionally more with assistance)
  

• Regular use of vision for detailed inspection and depth perception
  

• Exposure to consistent noise levels from machinery and tools
