Job Summary
This Role fulfils a shift role on a shaft and is responsible for the loading of ore on the hoppers in a development end of the mining operation.
- Checks availability and utilisation of P.P.E. specialised tools and equipment
- Attend daily safety meetings.
- Complete daily loader checklist & report defects.
- Pre-work inspection of work area
- Barring and inspection of work area.
- Ensures installation and operation of required safety devices
- Safe loading procedures.
- Adherence to safe re-railing and transport safety procedures.
- Installing and adjustment of jump set.
- Installing and extending of sliding rail.
- Loco signaling system.
- Checking of oil level
- Check for oil and air leaks
- Check and replace worn slings
- Check and replace leaking air hoses
- Clean loader at end of shift.
- Inspect loader by using appropriate checklist
Qualifications :
- Certificate of fitness
- Competent B
- Certified competent as a M/Loader Operator
- Valid Drivers License Advantageous
- Psychometric classification to the specific machine (Dover)
- Grade 12 - Literacy or equivalent
Knowledge obtained on the job
- 2 - 5 years working experience as a Loader Driver
- SQL Loader experience will be an advantage (GST training)
