Job Summary

Summary:
HVAC Technician

EQUIPMENT MANAGEMENT

Maintaining and repairing air handling units exhaust fans fume hoods fan coil
units reheat coils and other associated mechanical equipment
Troubleshooting customer service calls for temperature comfort inside our
buildings
Maintaining accuracy of system documentation and limited support of new
installation projects may be required
Complete Hazard Assessments as necessary

CUSTOMER SERVICE

installation projects may be required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Vocation degree program with technical courses related to the field preferred
Minimum 3 years field experience with trade school training or 6 years total
field experience

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

HVAC license
EPA certification
Driver license

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must have good communication skills both verbal and written
Good general computer skills with knowledge in E-mail Internet
Ability to effectively use computers and computer programs (including use of
Microsoft Office Suite)
Skill in use of the internet to navigate to and use web based applications.
Ability to use handheld electronic devices (PDA Blackberry cell phone etc.)
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the
meaning and spelling of words rules of composition and grammar.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT PHYSICAL CONDITIONS

Work will be campus-based
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Ability to bend sit kneel squat stand reach climb ladders and lay as required to
access equipment components for extended periods of time
Ability to work exposed to heat sunlight rain cold daylight and nighttime hours as required
