Job Summary
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Head of Engineering and Maintenance to lead the engineering and maintenance operations at a prestigious luxury wine estate in Franschhoek. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all property systems equipment and facilities operate efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all engineering and maintenance operations across the estate
Lead manage and mentor the engineering and maintenance team
Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans and schedules
Ensure compliance with all health safety and environmental regulations
Monitor and maintain mechanical electrical plumbing and HVAC systems
Manage maintenance budgets procurement of materials and vendor relationships
Coordinate with other departments to ensure minimal disruption to estate operations
Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure property and equipment are maintained to the highest standard
Prepare reports on maintenance activities repairs and operational performance
Requirements:
Proven experience in a senior engineering or maintenance role within a luxury hospitality or estate environment
Strong leadership organisational and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Technical knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines (mechanical electrical plumbing HVAC)
Ability to work independently manage a team and oversee multiple projects simultaneously
Proactive reliable and detail-oriented
Valid drivers licence and reliable transport
Package Details:
50% Medical Aid contribution
3% Provident Fund contribution
Annual increases and performance-related bonuses
Meal allowance of R25.00 per shift (for salaries below R25000)
Subsidised staff transport available on Franschhoek Paarl Stellenbosch and Wellington routes
