RESTAURANT MANAGER
ABOUT THE ROLE
Moody Lagoon is seeking an exceptional Restaurant Manager to lead our dynamic team and elevate our dining experience. This is not a job for the faint-heartedwe need a driven hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has the energy and vision to take our restaurant to the next level.
Operating 7 days a week with intensive dinner service during high season this role demands someone who lives and breathes hospitality commands respect from their team and has the business acumen to drive revenue through both daily operations and corporate event sales.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership & Management
- Recruit train and develop a high-performing front-of-house and back-of-house team
- Create and maintain staff rosters that ensure optimal service delivery across 7-day operations
- Conduct performance reviews provide ongoing coaching and manage disciplinary processes
- Foster a positive professional culture that drives excellence and staff retention
- Lead by example during service stepping in wherever needed to ensure seamless operations
Operational Excellence
- Oversee all aspects of daily service ensuring exceptional guest experience
- Maintain impeccable restaurant presentation standardsambiance cleanliness table settings
- Implement and monitor service standards food quality controls and health & safety compliance
- Manage opening and closing procedures with meticulous attention to detail
- Handle guest feedback and complaints with diplomacy and swift resolution
Stock & Inventory Management
- Oversee ordering receiving and stock control for food beverage and supplies
- Monitor inventory levels minimize waste and control costs without compromising quality
- Conduct regular stocktakes and maintain accurate inventory records
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and value
- Implement systems to track usage and prevent shrinkage
Corporate Events & Revenue Generation
- Proactively identify pursue and secure corporate event bookings
- Develop and pitch tailored event packages to corporate clients
- Manage event logistics from inquiry to execution ensuring flawless delivery
- Build a pipeline of repeat corporate clients through exceptional service
- Network within the business community to drive event sales
- Coordinate with kitchen and front-of-house teams to execute private functions seamlessly
Financial Management
- Work to budget targets managing labor costs and operational expenses
- Analyze daily weekly and monthly sales reports to identify trends and opportunities
- Implement strategies to maximize revenue during high season and maintain stability year-round
- Control cash handling procedures and maintain financial accountability
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years restaurant management experience in a quality dining environment
- Proven track record of managing teams of 10 staff members
- Demonstrated success in corporate event sales and management
- Strong understanding of inventory management cost control and P&L
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and hold teams accountable
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights weekends and holidays
