POSITION PURPOSE:
The Project Engineer will assist the Construction Manager and Senior Development Staff with day-to-day tasks in Engineering Procurement & Construction (EPC) which may include but is not limited to: tracking and monitoring progress; managing submittals RFIs schedules contractors vendors permit coordination construction & contract documentation etc.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Collaborates with project staff to create a strategic action plan required to complete the project.
- Facilitates and contributes to the development of project plans and designs.
- Assesses the competence capabilities resources and financial status of vendors and contractors.
- Supervises progress of development project and prepares weekly and monthly status reports for senior staff and off-takers.
- Compares and tracks the actual cost of development project to budget.
- Assist in management and oversight of consultants and contractors.
- Assist in management of QA/QC process commissioning inspections signoffs punchlists and closeout documents.
- Assist in management of energy regulatory approvals (CUP CAISO FERC NERC CEC EIA etc.)
- Ensures compliance with codes guidelines best practices and policies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTIES:
- None
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification licenses etc.)
- Bachelors degree in related engineering discipline or construction management required.
- Prior experience in utility scale solar with an EPC or IPP.
- 3-5 years prior experience in utility scale solar EPC.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent budgeting and cost containment skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using Sharepoint or other document control software.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using Project Management software including but not limited to BlueBeam Microsoft Project etc.
- Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing PVSYST reports.
- Understanding of utility scale solar construction practices (racking systems inverters substations gen-tie electrical design concepts etc.)

Actual base salary considers several factors including but not limited to geography job-related knowledge experience and budget. The start of the salary range is typically associated with the minimum experience required. At CIM base pay is one part of the total compensation package. This role is eligible for bonus pay in addition to base salary. The anticipated base salary range for the position inFresno CA is $90000 - $120000.
