Job Summary
Head of Department World Languages (Spanish or French)
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Department World Languages for our reputed IB residential school located in Ooty. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in Spanish and French with a deep understanding of IB curriculum frameworks specifically DP level and a passion for fostering global-mindedness through language learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the World Languages Department and ensure effective curriculum planning and implementation across grade levels.
- Teach and mentor students in Spanish and/or French with a focus on communication culture and inquiry-based learning.
- Support IB authorization and evaluation processes in alignment with school language policies.
- Collaborate with other academic departments to integrate interdisciplinary learning.
- Provide professional development and guidance to language teachers.
- Monitor student progress assessment standards and departmental performance.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Masters/Bachelors degree in Languages Linguistics Education or related field.
- Minimum 35 years of teaching experience in an IB or international school (leadership experience preferred).
- Proficiency in both Spanish and French (spoken and written).
- Strong understanding of IB philosophy and inquiry-based pedagogy.
- Excellent communication organizational and leadership skills.
Location: Tamil Nadu South India (Residential campus)
