Job Summary
Full-time MIG Welder
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced MIG Welder to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in MIG welding blueprint reading and fabrication with 1-4 years of relevant work experience. As a Full-time MIG Welder you will be responsible for producing high-quality welds interpreting technical drawings and contributing to the overall efficiency and productivity of our welding department.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on various materials including steel aluminum and stainless steel ensuring high-quality and precise welds
- Read and interpret blueprints technical drawings and welding symbols to understand project requirements and specifications
- Set up and operate welding equipment including power sources wire feeders and shielding gas systems
- Fabricate metal components and structures according to project specifications
- Inspect completed welds for quality strength and conformity to design specifications
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on welding equipment
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure project deadlines are met
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and suggest process enhancements
- Assist in training and mentoring junior welders as needed
- Complete required documentation and reports accurately and in a timely manner
Qualifications
- 1-4 years of professional experience in MIG welding and fabrication
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong understanding of welding processes techniques and best practices
- Ability to work with various materials including steel aluminum and stainless steel
- Experience with different welding positions (flat horizontal vertical and overhead)
- Knowledge of welding symbols and their applications
- Familiarity with welding equipment setup operation and basic maintenance
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in welding preferred
