Salary: Level 4 Step 1 ($2548.50 bi-weekly)

Reporting to the Nitrinkè-in Shi Hǫzǫ Trëtäàl (Nutrition Program Coordinator) this position will be responsible to provide cooking services for the Breakfast and Lunch program at Robert Service School as well as community meals identified by Trondëk Hwëchin. The main responsibilities are assisting the Nutritional Program Coordinator with weekly menu plans and managing food orders driving and delivering food packaging and lifting small and large/heavy containers of food working with other cooks to share jobs and preparing nutritious meals for the breakfast and lunch program.
An Eligibility List may be established from this competition the duration of the eligibility list may be up to 12 months. The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent full-time permanent part-time temporary full-time temporary part-time term or auxiliary on-call vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires.

Essential Qualifications:
- Cooking courses or equivalent experience.
- Experience in cooking traditional foods.
- Food safety courses or willingness to obtain.
- Knowledge and understanding of Northern Canada Food Guide.
- Experience preparing nutritious meals for large groups Over 100 servings
- Ability to demonstrate conflict resolution skills and assist in crisis situations in a calm manner.
- Ability to act as a positive role model for community members demonstrating the practice of a healthy lifestyle.
Conditions of Employment:
- Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Class 5 drivers license with a clear drivers abstract.
- Standard First Aid / CPR Remote First Aid or willingness to obtain.
- Willingness to get and maintain medical clearance annual flu shots and TB testing.
- Must be able to repeatedly lift containers over 50lbs.
- TH101 Cultural Awareness training.
