The Role:

The Sustainability Lead is responsible for ensuring the facility operates in alignment with sustainable practices with a strong focus on achieving and maintaining Zero Waste Certification. Key areas of responsibility include Waste Management and Zero Waste implementation compliance and audit preparation training and employee engagement collaboration and reporting continuous improvement and innovation and corrective action and issue resolution.

Responsibilities:

Waste Management & Zero Waste Implementation
- Oversee waste sorting and disposal procedures to ensure compliance with zero-waste goals.
- Identify opportunities.
- Coordinate with waste management partners to ensure proper collection recycling and composting.
- Track and analyze waste data identifying trends and areas for improvement.
Compliance & Audit Preparation.
- Responsible for participating and taking action in the sustainability audits
- Implement corrective actions based on audit findings.
- Maintain documentation and reports required for certification.
Training & Employee Engagement
- Organize and lead sustainability training sessions for employees and chef teams.
- Encourage all employees to respect and comply with sustainable practices.
- Work with the sustainability team to implement training programs
- Lead by example promoting a culture of environmental responsibility.
Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with the Sustainability Leader to align objectives and implement best practices.
- Provide regular updates on sustainability progress key initiatives.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Identify and implement new sustainable solutions for food waste reduction.
- Work with partners and respond to the necessary documentation..
Corrective Actions & Issue Resolution
- Participate in and lead corrective actions related to sustainability audits.
- Address deviations from sustainability procedures and implement solutions to maintain compliance.
- Ensure daily tasks related to sustainability are completed efficiently by the team.

Qualifications:

Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Supervisory and training skills.
Understanding and awareness of Latino and American cultures.
Hands-on can-do attitude.
Ability to take ownership improve processes and enhance results.
Bilingual Spanish and English (mainly spoken)
Basic knowledge of Google Docs.
Ability to stand for long periods lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment.
Preferred:TRUE Advisor (GBCI) certificate
Experience supporting TRUE Zero Waste projects (diversion tracking waste audits donation logs).

Compensation

All final pay rates will be determined by candidates experience knowledge skills and abilities of the applicant internal equity and alignment with market data.

Pay Range for this position

$17$19 USD
