Join GEV EWS GIS Solutions as a Technical Delivery Manager where youll provide your expertise in sustained customer success and growth in the post-sales customer lifecycle.
Youll associate with a team of GE Project Software Engineers Partners and Contracted Technical SMEs from Partners and Contractors assigned to the Project Team developing project delivery strategy and delivering solutions against the scoped requirements to a high level of quality as per the Contract and Schedule. As a knowledge leader on Smallworld (PNI or EO) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) youll have the unique opportunity to contribute and shape the future of our team

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Youll own the End-to-End responsibility on the Software Delivery technical element of projects to meet the contracted requirements timeline and quality commitments.
    Own the Solution ensuing that any non-Product requirements are reviewed with the Product Manager.
    Lead the Partners and any Services Engineers assigned to the Project assigning Work Packages and ensuring the reviews on technical Show and Tells.
    Ensure development and documentation are fit for purpose.
    Responsible for generating the activities as per the agreed project RACI matrix.
    Responsible for the Environment Strategy for the Project and Support Teams ensuring that these are created built and fully accessible whilst providing support to the Customer on their needs.
    Liaise with the Product Engineering Team manage the Testing and Defect strategy and to work in conjunction with the Project Manager to enable the completion of the Project to Cost Quality and Schedule
    Incorporate the project Governance Processes into the Planning and manage the handover to support activities.
    Responsible for confirming timesheets provided by the technical resources against the project are appropriate for the work packages assigned
    Attend the Project Internal and Customer Meetings as well as hold regular Technical Internal and External Meetings and daily Stand-Up meetings (AGILE Scrum) with the team
    The Delivery Manager is to attend the Scheduled Project Review Meetings supporting the Project Manager
    Responsible for any technical workshops held with the Customer during Design stage and generating the documentation and attending document reviews
    Own the Delivery Model and Tools (e.g. JIRA Confluence)
    Review activities against the WBS and inform the Project Manager of any delays or risks
    Collaborate with the Project Manager in relation to the Project Scope ensuring that the deliverables are in accordance with the Scope of Work

    Responsible for the documentation of requirements schedule and WBS for any Change Requests within the Project
    Confirm the completion of deliverables against milestones and stage reviews.
    What we are looking for
    Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in Software Engineering or related discipline.
    Proven experience in a senior technical role within a system integrator or Software Consultancy practice.
    Proven experience in defining and managing delivery teams.
    Proven experience in defining and assigning Work Packages.
    Proven experience in tracking technical delivery according to Time Cost and Scope.
    Experience in Agile methodologies and DevOps tools
    Extensive experience with Smallworld Smallworld PNI or Smallworld Electric Office .
    Extensive experience in Telco or Utilities industries.
    Established project management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
    Fluent in English.
    Availability for frequent travels to customer sites

Required Qualifications

  • For roles outside of the USA- This role requires advanced experience in the Services & Digital Implementation Services. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
  • For roles in USA - Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).

Desired Characteristics

Technical Expertise:
Strong knowledge of software design and coding principles

Good understanding and hands-on experience of GE Small World ( EO & PNI) suite
Experience working in an Agile environment
Proficiency in software engineering tools and processes in general specifically in object- oriented analysis design and development (e.g. Magik Python) and web technologies (Javascript HTML5 CSS AngularJS)
Proficiency in database tools (e.g. Oracle/ Oracle Spatial) and database modelling
Familiarity with versatile implementation options
Demonstrates knowledge on technical topics such as caching APIs data transfer scalability and security
Business Acumen:
Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems
Skilled in breaking down problems documenting problem statements and estimating efforts
Has the ability to analyze impact of technology choices

Demonstrates knowledge of the competitive environment
Demonstrates knowledge of technologies in the market to help make buy vs build recommendations
