West Hills CA / Transplant Diagnostics Division

How will you make an impact

The Scientist II R&D Sequencing will be a member of a highly collaborative and motivated team of scientists. They will take part in the various stages of assay product development for the purpose of transplant diagnostics. Their role will have a direct impact on improving the health and outcomes of transplant patients!

A day in the Life:

  • Design develop and optimize sequencing-based molecular assays for transplant diagnostic applications.
  • Prepare sequencing libraries complete sequencing runs and perform data analysis
  • Serve as the technical representative for R&D participating in collaborative inter-departmental activities with the common goal of producing both competitive and high-quality products that enhances outcomes for transplant patients.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelors degree in molecular biology Biochemistry Genetics Cell Biology or related field with at least 2 years of industrial experience. OR Masters degree in molecular biology Biochemistry Genetics Cell Biology or related field with at least 1 year of industrial experience.

Experience

  • Hands-on experience with various sequencing technologies (NGS Sanger and/or single molecule sequencing)
  • Experience with molecular assay development optimization verification and /or validation preferably in clinical diagnostics
  • Experience with experimental design and data analysis preferably in assay development

Knowledge Skills Abilities

  • Solid understanding of the underlying principles of NGS (or sequencing) nanopore sequencing DNA isolation and quantification gene amplification methods quantitative PCR Sanger sequencing and other relevant technologies
  • Ability to optimally prioritize and balance a variety of assigned tasks
  • Outstanding communicator with the ability to prepare clear presentations and work together with colleagues
  • Effectively represent R&D in addressing process improvements resolving customer inquiries and conducting training as needed
  • Good writing skills to prepare regular and routine reports plans reviews and white papers as needed
  • Experience of knowledge of HLA preferred
  • Expertise in clinical studies IVDR testing and submissions and/ or clinical validation
  • Self-Motivated with a genuine desire to learn and develop your skills

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $72600.00$108900.00.
