Job Summary

The AWS Infrastructure Finance team provides end-to-end financial support driving AWS to be the lowest cost provider in Cloud computing and leader in customer experience. We are looking for a Finance Manager to join the AWS Energy & Sustainability Finance team within the AWS Infrastructure Finance organization. The AWS Energy team is responsible for (1) Delivering Energy to AWS Data Centers (2) Procuring Carbon-Free Energy to support our sustainability goals and (3) Developing our Sustainability and Carbon-Free Energy Strategy. Our team provides critical support in the form of financial valuation investment decisions and driving the global portfolio strategy for Amazons Energy portfolio.

We are looking for a Finance Manager to support the end-to-end energy portfolio: energy deal valuation processes financial planning and analysis (FP&A) reporting energy opex and capex portfolio reporting Month End Close processes automation support and more. Finance provides critical valuation support thought leadership financial acumen and controllership and aids in critical decision making both at the deal and portfolio level. Our team owns the financial controllership processes and FP&A reporting and consolidation that scale with the portfolios growth. This includes utilities opex and energy market rate forecasting energy and water capex forecasting new region energy rate forecast and partnership with the stakeholder teams (business teams accounting and technical product teams). Our team has invested in automation functionality for month end close and financial planning process and we continue integrating our tools and systems to allow for end-to-end automation of our portfolio reporting.

In this role you can expect to:
Drive the reporting for our AMER energy portfolio supporting our sustainability goals and scaling AWS data center growth
Develop a deep knowledge of the energy markets that we operate in along with the energy deals in our portfolio
Lead financial evaluation and analysis of complex long-term energy agreements; develop comprehensive financial models to assess deal economics risks and returns; provide strategic recommendations to shape deal structures and influence go-forward energy procurement strategies while ensuring alignment with AWSs financial objectives and growth targets.
Report on the financial performance of our Energy portfolio and assist the preparation of monthly quarterly and bi-annual reviews
Develop automated web-based tooling and reporting to support the financial reporting on our operating renewable deals energy deals and energy capex reporting

- 5 years of tax finance or a related analytical field experience
- 5 years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
- 6 years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 6 years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- 6 years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 6 years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- Bachelors degree in finance accounting business economics or a related analytical field (e.g. engineering math computer science) or Bachelors degree and 5 years of quantitative role (engineering process re-engineering quality assurance) experience

- 6 years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6 years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models analysis and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g. financial savings operational improvements or customer benefits) experience
- MBA or CPA
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL MS Access Essbase Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle SAP Lawson JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting budgeting and variance analysis and data interpretation of results
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- 5 years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
- 6 years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 6 years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- 6 years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
