Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
A BGCTM Dishwasher cleans dishes by hand and using industrial kitchen equipment; and completes other kitchen functions not necessarily directly related to the preparation cooking or consumption of meals.
A Dishwasher is responsible for keeping the kitchen and cafeteria area as clean and organized as possible as quickly and efficiently as possible.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Load and unload dishwashing machines.
- Wash specific items by hand as directed.
- Put dishes and equipment away correctly.
- Set up workstations as instructed.
- Maintain stock of cleaning supplies.
- Inform Culinary Director when ordering is needed.
- Take out trash regularly.
- Assist in maintenance of equipment.
- Report any inoperative broken or worn materials or equipment to the Culinary Director promptly.
- Ensure the kitchen and cafeteria areas are otherwise well maintained and cleaned as needed.
- Complete other job duties as requested.

Qualifications
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Strong customer service skills including written and verbal communication skills
- Able to communicate effectively with a diverse population and represent BGCTM professionally to the community.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must be reliable and punctual reporting to assigned tasks.
- Able to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
CERTIFICATIONS/ASSOCIATIONS:
- ServSafe Food Handler Certification required or ability to obtain a ServSafe Food Handler Certification within 90 days of employment.
- After hire will receive mandatory paid on-line and in-person training including Safety Skills CPR/First Aid etc.
- After hire will be registered with Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to perform duties which require walking talking hearing standing sitting and/or bending for long periods of time. May occasionally be required to kneel run and/or climb.
- Must be able to use hands and arms to enter data into the computer use the telephone and other office equipment.
- Must be able to perform surface and deep cleaning appropriately using potentially hazardous cleaners including bleach as needed.
- Must be able to lift move manipulate and or hold objects up to 45 pounds. Objects that exceed the 45-pound weight limit require additional assistance when moving lifting or manipulating.
