Heres What You Need
- Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
- BCLS prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
- ACLS within 90 days of hire required
- CPI Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire
- NIHSS within 6 month of hire required
- 1-year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
- PCU/Telemetry experience preferred strong Medical Surgical candidates are encouraged to apply
- Neuro experience in the acute care hospital setting preferred
In addition to the required qualifications a successful RN will
- demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality positive interpersonal skills and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
- maintain a positive customer-focused attitude toward patients
- possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism
- have basic computer skills using medical management application systems
What You Will Do
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
assesses the patient
plans the care of the patient
intervenes as appropriate
evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift inter-hospital and while expediting out of hospital transfers

- 25-bed Neuroscience PCU
- Nurse: Patient ratio: 1:3
- The Neuro Progressive Care Unit provides care to a patient population with neuro related injuries and pre- and post-surgical patients requiring specialized monitoring and interventions including seizures epilepsy and brain tumors.
Cares for patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring management of chest tubes vent and tracheostomy care wound/skin care titration of insulin drips for patients with diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) diagnosis respiratory compromised patients that require specialized equipment including continuous respiratory interventions multi-system organ failure respiratory distress sepsis hematology GI Bleeds Renal/Liver Failure Acid-Base and Electrolyte Imbalances and cardiac abnormalities. - MAGNET facility
