About the Role

The primary purpose of the Pediatric Trauma Program Manager (PTPM) position is to improve patient care and systems practice on the Pediatric Trauma service. The PTPM participates in the implementation advancement evaluation and day to day operation of the Pediatric Trauma Center. Demonstrates clinical knowledge and skill in the care of pediatric trauma patients and is responsible for Performance Improvement/Quality Assurance for all pediatric trauma patients. Participates in education system initiatives research injury prevention and outreach activities. Represents the Pediatric Trauma Center at local state and national organizations. The PTPM collaborates with Trauma Physicians the Trauma Team Trauma Program Manager and with all other health care disciplines to provide excellent clinical care to the pediatric population. Utilizes nursing expertise to provide staff orientation consultation and evaluation as well as education for patients families and health care team members on pediatric issues. Works collaboratively with physicians and nursing leadership to identify patient care and staff development needs.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates clinical expertise in caring for pediatric trauma patients.
  • Oversees Performance Improvement and Quality Assurance for all pediatric trauma cases.
  • Engages in education system-wide initiatives research injury prevention and outreach activities.
  • Represents the Pediatric Trauma Center at local state and national organizations.
  • Collaborates with trauma physicians the trauma team the Trauma Program Manager and other healthcare disciplines to ensure high-quality care.
  • Uses nursing expertise to support staff orientation consultation evaluation and education for patients families and healthcare team members.
  • Works with physicians and nursing leadership to identify and address patient care and staff development needs.

Qualifications

What Youll Bring

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Masters degree in Nursing Healthcare Administration or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years of RN experience required
  • At least two (2) years of experience in pediatric intensive care emergency department or trauma nursing preferred
  • Leadership experience desired
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and TCRN (Trauma Certified Registered Nurse) required or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire
  • Strong computer literacy and organizational skills required
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and team-building skills required
  • Compassion and dedication to pediatric patient care essential

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is NS/04S:$104297 $130373 $156447 in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
