Job Summary

Position:Custodial Services Training Program Teacher

Dates: November10 2025 to January 22 2026 (Monday-Friday - 8:30 amto1:30 pm)

Location: Giffard Centre 1003 Giffard Street Whitby L1N 2S3

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Certificate of Qualification - Certificate of Qualification (must be in good standing)
  • Teaching Experience in Technological Education

Desired:

  • Formal Training and/or Experience in Teaching Adults in an Educational Setting
  • Custodial Experience
  • Current Health and Safety Certifications

Responsibilities:

In-school training November 10 2025 to January 22 2026 (Monday to Friday 5 hours per day 5 days per week).

The instructor/coordinator is expected to deliver both the theoretical and practical components of the program.

THEORY

  • Deliver the Custodial Services Emphasis Course Technological Education curriculum and the Custodial Services Training Curriculum with a focus on safety practices
  • Provide appropriate assessments and evaluations pertaining to the curriculum
  • Monitor students progress in the course and provide timely and descriptive feedback

PRACTICAL

  • Coordinateprogram safety certifications and guest speakers
  • Coordinate cooperative education placements for students registered in the program

Rate of Pay:

Will be paid according to the Continuing Education hourly rate $57.84/hour as per the current collective agreement for each designated day of the program.
