JOB GOAL:
The Director of Procurement serves as the districts lead administrative official for procurement and materials management. This role oversees the acquisition of all materials equipment supplies and services in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible. The Director is also responsible for managing the Central Supply Center overseeing the districts mail and distribution operations and ensuring accurate accounting inventory and disposal of capital property.

Work Days/Work Hours: Monday Friday (8 hours per day).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Academic Requirement Bachelors degree in Procurement Business Administration or related Business/Management field of study. Masters Degree preferred. Must possess a Public Purchasing Certification by the National Institute of Government Purchasing
- Minimum Experience Level Requirement - The district seeks an individual who has at least 10 years of demonstrated professional work experience in in public purchasing and materials management including experience in warehouse operations inventory control property accounting and disposal systems. Applicants must have five (5) of the years of supervisory experience.
- Evidence of strong organizational communication (oral and writing skills) and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively present information to top management public groups and board of directors.
- Computer Skills Working knowledge of MS Office tools (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook) or Google tools as well as standard financial management and procurement related software.

- Oversees and assumes responsibility for the selection qualification and disqualification of vendors suppliers and contractors in accordance with district policies procurement standards and evaluation procedures.
- Assumes responsibility for establishing managing and overseeing programs that define specifications quality standards and inspection testing and acceptance procedures for commodities and services.
- Recommends and advises the Superintendent Board of Directors and Chief Deputy Finance & Operations Officers on policies and procedures governing the Little Rock School Districts procurement functions.
- Provides special assistance to administrators and district staff regarding procurement related matters. Works with appropriate departments to meet operational procurement needs within budget.
- Perform any duties and responsibilities that are within the scope of employment as assigned by Supervisor and/or Superintendent of Schools and not otherwise prohibited by law or regulation.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Describes physical conditions of this position):
