General Summary of Position:
A postdoctoral position in medical device development is available at the University of Massachusetts Lowell in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. This position will involve the design prototyping and validation of novel wound healing technology. The project is sponsored by the Defense Health Agency through the US Combat Casualty Care Research Program and in collaboration with investigators at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. The initial appointment will be for one year with the possibility of renewal based on productivity and performance as well as the availability of funding. Candidates with a strong background and hands-on experience in mechanical design mechatronics systems automation and control are highly encouraged to apply.
Essential Job Duties:
1. Engineering design construction and testing of prototype devices for skin wound healing applications including building testbeds and collecting performance data.
2. Deployment of prototype devices at pre-clinical site including training personnel and providing engineering support as required.

4. Support writing and preparation of project reports and dissemination materials like conference abstracts and posters and manuscripts for publishing in peer-reviewed journals.

This position is in GradePD which carries a formal salary range of $50000-$76000. This position has anticipated starting salary of $62232 based on the grant.
