Process Engineer - CablesetPosition Overview
Shaw Industries is searching for a Process Engineer to support the yarn manufacturing process at Plant 67. The Process Engineer will work directly with front-line leadership operators and maintenance to drive improvements in Safety Quality and Productivity.
Responsibilities:
Lead participate and drive improvement teams that have a positive impact on the Safety Quality Productivity and Cost of the Cabling and Heatset (Cableset) departments.
Be able to assess data and create an actionable plan to drive results.
Responsible for understanding procedures and standard work to ensure that they are up-to-date and effective by actively engaging with the Department Manager process and people.
Actively engages on the plant floor with associates to ensure procedures are followed needs are met and quality product is being produced.
Investigates quality problems to determine root causes and helps with creating and implementing corrective actions.
Coordinates and implements process improvement plans for the department.
Become a technical expert for the department. Perform technical measurements of process parameters on machines to audit set points and machine performance.
With help from the Cableset Department Manager manage the department maintenance team for coordinating PM and Overhaul efforts.
Actively engage with yarn trials (SYRs) through Cabling and Heatset to ensure that process specs are maintained and information is gathered to appropriately evaluate the trial.
Develop and maintain visual management tools for the department to ensure that associates have clear communication and understanding of critical metrics and performance criteria.
Understand and Support all SAFE SMS TPM Lean Six Sigma & Environmental Efforts within the department.
Provide coaching to mechanics operators and supervisors around safety process and productivity
Monitors product changes and startups to guard against contamination and off quality
Partner with EHS to ensure LOTO and safety procedures are updated appropriately
Understand and Support all SAFE SMS TPM Lean Six Sigma & Environmental Efforts within the department.
Assist in developing and implementing plans to improve areas where performance is under goal.

Requirements:
4-year degree required; Mechanical Electrical or Materials Engineering degree preferredor equivalent experience
Strong communication skills (written and oral)
Strong project management skills
Six Sigma Training or willingness to complete training for Green Belt and/or Black Belt
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (preferred)
Previous manufacturing experience (preferred)
