Preferred Experience:
Experience at the journey-level as an electrician with a focus on the installation and repair of electrical systems in public works institutional commercial or industrial settings.
Experience overseeing and ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations on significant construction projects.
Involvement in complex projects that require coordination with multiple stakeholders including contractors engineers.
Expertise in identifying and addressing deficiencies ensuring that all aspects of construction meet the required standards.
Must be open to learning the prescriptive items required by the agency
A strong understanding of diverse code requirements. Excellent communication and time management skills.
Minimum Requirements and Certifications:
Electrical/IT inspection staff shall have at 3 years or more of experience performing electrical/IT inspections; For task on the Airfield 3 years or more of experience with airfield lighting is required.
Current ICC Certification as a Commercial Electrical Inspector
Proof of NFPE-70E standards. Completion of training must have been achieved within the last 3 years
30-hour Cal-OSHA training prior to assignment. The 30-hour training will have been received within the last 4 years.
Fall protection and harness training.
The ability to perform inspections for:
Underground utilities and duct banks
High-voltage switchgear and electrical panels
Conduit racks conductors and grounding systems
Interior and exterior lighting systems
Fire life safety systems including smoke/heat detectors and FM-200 suppression systems
Electrical shutdowns lockout/tagout procedures and breaker coordination
Low-voltage systems (voice/data security access control)
Door card readers security cameras and public address (P.A.) systems Communication cabling and equipment rooms.
Hardware /Software Experience and Proficiency
Knowledge of Project Management Information Software used for inspection/document control (i.e. Microsoft Office Outlook Excel Word PM Web Adobe Pro Bluebeam etc.).
Computer proficiency to review and utilize electronic equipment for contract documents efficiently including change orders submittals RFIs and other inspection documents with minimal supervision.
