Job Description
A leading game studio is looking for a Sound Designer to join one of their game development teams. The role covers all aspects of sound design from recording and post-production to implementation and plays a key part in delivering a high-quality creative audio experience to players. The team values originality and high-quality sound. Most audio assets are recorded from scratch through field and studio sessions. If they need a dolphin sound they go visit the dolphins.
The studio has a friendly and highly collaborative culture where the sound team works closely with many other crafts to ensure that players get the best possible experience. As part of this team youll have an artistic responsibility in expanding a globally recognized game universe.
Your tasks will include:
- Work with several scrum teams and contribute to all aspects of sound design post-production and implementation as required.
- Record original sounds.
- Create high quality audio assets for in-game use.
- Communicate collaborate and creatively work with everyone on the product for example game designers artists producers and developers.
- A sense of fun and be able to think laterally creating sounds especially for the Minecraft universes requires creativity and imagination
- Create the best audio experience for our players and on ensuring to follow creative visions and guidelines for Minecraft.
What youll bring:
- Knowledge of current audio tools (DAWs microphones outboard gear etc.)
- Experience working with sound design in the games industry
- Good knowledge of modern audio equipment recording techniques microphones and industry standard audio tools (Reaper plug-ins middleware)
- Experience in conducting field and studio recordings as well as postproduction
- Have a great artistic feel for the atmosphere of games
- Self-organized planning problem solving and executing of daily tasks
Valued skillsets:
- The team values inclusivity diversity transparency and collaboration as youll be working closely with them they hope youll feel the same way!
- Experience working with GIT ADO and other tools for game development.
This is a temporary role (12 months fulltime) with weekly onsite days at the studio in Stockholm.
