Job Announcement:
The purpose of this position is to provide general oversight of the Public Safety Communications Division within the Police Department. This position provides direction to all other employees in the Communications Division.
Work requires knowledge of a specific vocational administrative or technical nature which may be obtained with six months/one year of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency. Junior college vocational business technical or correspondence schools are likely sources. Appropriate certification may be awarded upon satisfactory completion of advanced study or training.
- Valid Texas Class C Drivers License
- Telecommunications Advanced Certification or equivalent
- DPS- TCIC/ NCIC Full Access Operation Certification
Special Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a public safety telecommunications center with at least 2 years of supervisory experience required. Experience as a Computer Aided Dispatch System Administrator is preferred. Experience as Terminal Agency Coordinator is preferred.
