| POSITION SUMMARY |
| Performs paraprofessional work while assisting classroom teachers and assistant students in achieving established goals. This positionmay also assist students with disabilities on a one-on-one basis to achieve established educational goals and objectives with personal care and mobility and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the supervision of a classroom teacher and evaluated by the school principal. |
| ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS |
- Assists classroom teacher in performing specific duties as assigned or undertaking specialized tasks to achieve and enhance instructional objectives.
- Works with individuals or small groups to reinforce learning objectives introduced by the teacher.
- Provides programmed practice activities and repetitions as developed by the teacher.
- Assists with large and small group activities.
- Guides independent study and other work assigned by the teacher.
- Reports student problems to the teacher and assists with student problems.
- Assists with loading and unloading buses.
- Supervises students during unstructured time such as lunch recess and transitions.
- Assists with student routines.
- Performs related work as required.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining standards of student behavior.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities.
- Assist in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
- Help maintain order in the classroom; monitor students to keep them on task.
- Assist students with personal care.

| EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE |
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of sixty (60) credit hours from an accredited post-secondary institution or career technical facility or an Associates Degree or successful completion of the ParaPro assessment.
- Prior experience working with children is preferred.
