Raytheon Electrical Engineering is seeking a talented electrical engineering student to intern with our Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) engineering team in Tucson AZ.

E3 Engineers are responsible for ensuring that Raytheon products meet or exceed all electromagnetic interference (EMI) /electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements. Strong candidates should possess a strong electrical engineering foundation and have an interest in EMI / EMC. This intern position will work with experienced E3 engineers to support important Programs. There will be time spent performing hands-on EMI testing in the lab and there will be time supporting design analysis and reporting.

This intern position may have the opportunity to learn about design and verification analysis of EMI/EMC Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Hazards of Electromagnetic Radiation Lightning EMP and High Altitude EMP Shielding effectiveness and ESD.

This position can be a Junior Senior or Post Graduate Technical Intern based on the candidates qualifications and standing as outlined below:

This position is an onsite role located in Tucson AZ.

What You Will Do

• Perform EMI and EMC design and verification analysis
• Assist with Mil-Std-461 EMI testing
• Assist with Program reports and presentations
• Will work across disciplines as our specialty requires interaction with Mechanical and Systems Engineering as well as Electrical Engineering.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Must be pursuinga Bachelors or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or relatedScience Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major
• This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelors (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum entering their Sophomore standing level by the start of Summer 2026
• Familiarity with RF and/or EMI/EMC.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher is desired

• Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees as they are essential to the development of our products.

  The salary range for this role is 37000 USD - 82000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
