Job Description

The Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations assists in identifying cultivating soliciting and stewarding foundations and corporations for major gifts in support of MUSCs goals and priorities. Key duties also include working closely with Foundation leadership scientists faculty physicians and others to clarify and articulate fundraising goals.

This individual manages a portfolio of major institutional funders and is responsible for meeting annual performance metrics. Responsibilities

25% Stewardship and Donor Management

Create and submit corporate and foundation grant proposals including writing preparing supporting documentation and drafting and collecting required attachments which may occasionally involve delegating to a consultant. Develop individualized strategies for corporate and foundation prospects and donors that align with funding priorities. Working closely with development officers faculty and others oversee site visits for corporate and foundation donors/prospects. Arrange and participate in visits with corporations and foundations involving leadership as needed. Conducts research to identify corporate and foundation prospects for both the organization as a whole and specific programs projects and exhibits that align with the institutions strategic direction.

25% Prospect and Solicit Corporate and Foundation Gifts

Collaborate with the Foundation team the Office of Research Development the Office of Sponsored Research and the Office of External Relations to identify foundation giving opportunities share grant opportunities with faculty and partner on grant initiatives and deliverables. Participate in structured sessions with colleagues to coordinate prospect identification engagement strategy building proposal development solicitation and follow-up. Works closely with development leadership scientists faculty and physicians to clarify and articulate fundraising goals. Assist researchers in advancing basic science clinical and translational research priorities by helping with proposal development and submission. Successfully manage a portfolio through sponsorships grants and/or executive education while navigating the complex nuances of gift and grant fundraising.

25% Collaboration and Communication

Develop and discuss strategic vision and $1M gift and grant opportunities with all levels of leadership. Collaborate with the Constituent Engagement team to recommend and advise on the recognition of donors in both print and web-based publications as well as on impact reporting and extraordinary stewardship opportunities

15% Data Management

Track and generate reports on donor and gift information including ensuring the appropriate recording and use of gifts. Conduct research and maintain in-depth knowledge of MUSC projects and priorities. Ensure organizational compliance with gift and grant goals and objectives throughout the year.

10% Supervision and Management

Train and develop team members ensuring their duties align with their job descriptions. Ensure the team complies with MUSC policies and procedures
