Summary of Job Purpose:
perform supportive duties in Infusion and assist nursing staff in the treatment of served based on scope of services in the department.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Assists the nurse with admissions and discharges of patients.
Functions as technical support in all aspects of endoscopy and minor procedures.
Cleans and disinfects endoscopes per hospital policy.
Collects and labels specimens per hospital policy.
Responds to patent care needs and provides care and assistance.
Orders and restocks supplies and materials as needed.
Maintains a safe and clean environment utilizing appropriate infection control techniques.
Participates in data collection for PI and statistics.
Assists in the patient call back process.
Inputs orders and charges into the computer.
Follows all time and attendance policies.
Displays analytical and basic problem solving skills. Communicates problems to manager as appropriate.
Attends educational programs provided by the Hospital or those which are outside the Hospital that are related to job responsibilities.
Essential Job Requirements:
Education:
High School graduate or equivalency
Experience:
2 years of PCT experience preferred
Training:
CNA or certified medical assistant preferred
Basic Life Support BLS within 30 days of hire.
Other: Careful attention to detail good customer service.
Working Conditions:
Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity
Occupational: Significant occupational risk
Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force
Physical Environment: Significant exposure to dirt odors noise human waste etc.
