Job Summary

The Administrative Manager reports to the Department Chair and is responsible for directing the major financial and administrative operations of the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology as well as assisting faculty members in preparation of grant proposals and managing the sponsored research awards. The responsibilities include but are not limited to: placement and reconciliation of purchase orders; management and preparation of various visa classification applications (J-1 H-1B and F-1) for prospective students postdoctoral associates visiting and research scholars and new faculty hires Pre- and Post-award grants management in coordination with the Office of Sponsored Programs; management of the departmental budget approvals of weekly paid employee payroll.

Required Skills

Bachelors degree required with 3-5 years of related experience; Masters degree preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic resourcefulness patience persistence and strong organizational and communication skills. Requires knowledge of the SAP system MS Excel PowerPoint and Word.
