Job Summary

Assistant or Associate Professor WOT Thoracic Head and Neck Oncology on the clinical scholar pathway with an approximate 50:50 contribution to clinical service and academic pursuits.

The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch) and the University of Washington (UW) are jointly recruiting a full-time (1.0 FTE) faculty member at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level without tenure due to funding (WOT) in the Clinical Research Division of the Fred Hutch and the Division of Hematology and Oncology Department of Medicine at the UW. The primary appointment will be in the Clinical Research Division of Fred Hutch. Academic appointment at the University of Washington will be commensurate with experience qualifications and academic rank. University of Washington assistant professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments and associate professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that both align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

The selected individual for the advertised position is expected to contribute to our mission of delivering outstanding clinical care and developing excellence in clinical research in thoracic head and neck (THN) oncology. All clinical and translational research experiences and interests will be considered and expertise and focus in THN malignancies is highly desirable. Fred Hutch and University of Washington faculty engage in teaching research and responsibilities will involve oversight of advanced practice providers and fellows during inpatient and outpatient rotations and delivery of informal teaching sessions and formal lectures to providers and the general medical community.

Faculty are expected to perform their primary activities on-site at Fred Hutch.

This position is paid directly by Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch) and receives no UW refer to Fred Hutch for information about compensation for this position.



The ideal candidate should have a record of and primary interest in THN malignancies as well as an active clinical research interest as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications in the prevention diagnosis and treatment of THN cancers.

Applicants must have an MD/DO degree (or foreign equivalent) board certification in Medical Oncology or Hematology (or foreign equivalent) and must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington.
