Role Overview



The On-Street Operations Lead is responsible for the effective leadership and coordination of daily on-street operations across designated schemes. This role oversees a multi-shift team of field-based staff ensuring performance targets quality standards and safety requirements are consistently met.

Acting as a vital link between the field team depot leadership and senior management the On-Street Lead translates strategic goals into daily actions while providing valuable operational insights to drive decision-making. The role demands visible hands-on leadership and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities also include supporting client relations contributing operational data and insights during monthly reviews escalating risks and implementing new procedures or technologies. The role is central to delivering a safe consistent and high-performing service that meets contractual obligations and enhances operational excellence.



Key Responsibilities:



Operational Leadership



  • Lead and line-manage on-street staff across all shift patterns

  • Plan and schedule team rotas to maximise operational coverage and performance

  • Support the delivery of daily and weekly operational plans in line with scheme targets

  • Carry out regular on-street work to maintain performance visibility and credibility with the team

  • Monitor manage and report on individual and team KPIs to drive consistent improvement

  • Ensure full compliance with housekeeping safety and quality standards



Health & Safety



  • Ensure all team members have safe functional equipment and vehicles.

  • Oversee implementation of safety procedures and compliance checklists.

  • Maintain accurate records of accidents and near-miss incidents.

  • Ensure First Aid certifications are up to date and protocols are understood.

  • Conduct and document regular standards checks per Beryls performance criteria.

  • Lead scheduled Toolbox Talks to reinforce safety culture and address key issues.

Fleet Management



  • Oversee the servicing repairs and safe use of all vehicles used in on-street operations

  • Maintain a fleet maintenance log for all scheme vehicles

  • Assign and support a designated Fleet Contact within the scheme

  • Manage EV charging schedules to maximise uptime and operational efficiency


Staff Development & Mentoring



  • Mentor staff through coaching and on-the-job training to support career growth.

  • Maintain accurate and updated training records (Training Passports).

  • Promote leadership development and recognise high-performing staff.

6-Month Probationary Reviews



  • Evaluate new hires on performance communication and cultural fit.

  • Gather feedback from peers and supervisors.

  • Make informed decisions on confirmation extension or termination.

  • Align expectations and provide tailored development support.

Annual Management Feedback



  • Participate in annual leadership reviews using self peer and upward feedback.

  • Evaluate communication team development and results-driven leadership.

  • Identify strengths gaps and future growth opportunities.

  • Promote accountability and alignment with organisational goals.

Communication & Collaboration



  • Collaborate with depot leads and contract managers on performance objectives.

  • Maintain regular clear communication with field staff and leadership.

  • Participate in scheme-wide check-ins and planning sessions.

  • Implement new processes and proactively identify operational improvements.

  • Handle escalated issues from Customer Relations Central Operations or field teams.

  • Support wider scheme needs and respond to reasonable operational requests.

  • Report issues with tech systems or assets via ServiceNow.
