Job Summary
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintains ongoing high-level surveillance of patients cardiac rhythms and notifies nursing clinicians of any rate/rhythm changes according to clinician/provider orders.
- Collection of data necessary for placement of telemetry
- Measures and interprets patients heart rhythm and documents on patient record per department standards. of intervals for strip documentation
- Ectopy checks twice per shift
- Daily telemetry box maintenance
- Answers telephone and communicates clearly when receiving information from units or providers. Uses clear and complete communication with the unit personnel when delivering information about changes in patient rhythm.
- Accurate charging of telemetry chart maintenance
- EKG procedures.
- The Monitor Technician maintains the highest standards of practice in the clinical setting and is responsible for creating exceptional patient/family experiences during the delivery of this care.
