Title: CAD Technician II
Location: 100% Onsite at Corning NY
Duration: 12 Months
Hours: Monday-Friday 40 hours with overtime as required.
Description
Top skills/requirements: 5 years experience drafting with Solidworks and AutoCad. 2 year technical degree (Mechanical technology CAD etc.) preferred.
Minimum Experience: 5 years
Scope of Position:
Provides mechanical design and technical support to engineers involved in the design development and testing of industrial thermal process equipment.
Assist engineers with the design of mechanical equipment components using both AutoCAD and Solidworks software.
Updates and revises existing equipment drawings and documentation.
Supports equipment debug start-up and installations.
Procure material and process equipment using client approved processes.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Modifies design layouts of mechanical systems and subsystems using computer aided design under the direction of an engineer (2D/3D).
Assist with the preparation of documentation packages (drawings and written materials).
Compiles Spare Parts Lists based on vendor or engineer recommendations.
Assists engineers with specifications for commercially available equipment.
Demonstrates effective communication of technical ideas using graphic written and oral media.
Required Skills (MUSTS):
Familiarity with Solidworks AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
Ability to work in a team-based environment and to contribute to a highly matrixed project team.
Understands and values working in a diverse environment.
Ability to manage multiple priorities through sound planning and organizing.
Ability to select standard mechanical parts from a vendor catalog or by contacting the vendor.

Interview Process: Initial screening via Teams the final interview onsite with hands-on skills test/evaluation. Due to the onsite skills assessment candidates should not live further than a few hours driving distance and be willing to relocate to Client.
