The Role

Charlies Produce is looking to add an experienced Fleet Mechanic to join their team in South Seattle. We are looking for a professional person who is attentive to details such as being to work on time a team player and willing to work hard.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties Include but Are Not Limited To:
- Preventative maintenance / Diagnosing and running repairs on a variety of equipment from Tractors Trailers Lit gates Reefers and Yard goats.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to ensure vehicle safety and performance.
- Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate and complete repairs.
- R&R Truck components including Engine transmissions axles brakes lift gates etc..
- Engine / Transmission diagnose A/C repair Electrical -- charging / starting / lighting / suspension and Steering repair
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on heavy diesel engines machines and related systems including Lift gate hydraulics and transmissions.
- Utilize hand tools and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed.
- Work on and maintain Refrigeration trailers and Box trucks.
- Completes required paperwork associated with repairing vehicles documenting parts usage and accounting for repair times.
Qualifications :
Required Skills and Experience
- Knowledgeable in the diagnosis and repair of all makes of electronic controlled diesel engines. Fleet experience is a must.
- Must have mechanical and diagnostic knowledge and/or experience in diesel engines and refrigeration units.
- Must have basic welding skills and knowledge of TIG MIG and stick welding.
- Must have ability to read write and speak English fluently.
- Ability to read/follow technical manuals & verbal instructions alike.
- Comfortable with the use of factory scan tools.
- Have a professional mechanics toolbox.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Drivers License.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Cummins and Detroit Certifications.
- Reefer maintenance experience.
- Class A is a plus Class B preferred.
Additional Information :
This is a safety-sensitive position.

Actual compensation will be dependent on factors including but not limited to the individuals qualifications experience knowledge skills and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
