As the first point of contact our Hosts set the tone for the guest experience with a warm professional and welcoming presence. They ensure smooth front-of-house operations by managing guest flow maximizing seating efficiency and communicating clearly with all team members. Through attention to detail and exceptional hospitality Hosts leave a lasting impression on every guest.
The Day-to-Day:
- Create a warm and inviting atmosphere in person and over the phone even during high-volume periods
- Communicate effectively with Servers Bartenders and Managers to maintain optimal guest flow and seating rotation
- Greet and escort guests to their tables while engaging in friendly professional conversation
- Accurately take and manage reservations both in person and over the phone
- Ensure the front entrance host stand and surrounding areas are clean organized and fully stocked at all times
- Develop a strong understanding of the floor plan including table numbers and section layouts to seat guests efficiently
- Perform additional duties as assigned or required
Qualifications :
- Valid Smart Serve Certification Required
- Proven prior experience in a similar position for at least 6 months
- High attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment
- Organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain a level of professional urgency and momentum
- Minimum 1 year experience in customer service restaurant experience considered an asset
- Flexible availability including evenings weekends and holidays as required.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
