Job Summary

A leading independent day and boarding school in Bristol is looking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their thriving Science Department from January 2026. This is a full-time permanent position offering an exceptional opportunity to teach motivated students in a well-resourced environment with outstanding academic standards.

About the Role

The appointed teacher will deliver Science across KS3KS5 specialising in Biology Chemistry or Physics depending on expertise. The role involves teaching bright curious learners who value intellectual challenge and enjoy exploring scientific concepts in depth. The successful candidate will foster analytical thinking experimentation and scientific curiosity contributing to both classroom teaching and wider departmental initiatives.

Teachers are encouraged to introduce innovative approaches to learning including digital simulations investigative projects and cross-disciplinary work with Mathematics and Geography.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and teach well-structured Science lessons across KS3KS5.

  • Encourage independent learning and critical enquiry through practical investigation.

  • Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations.

  • Integrate technology and modern equipment to enhance understanding.

  • Contribute to departmental planning enrichment activities and science clubs.

  • Support and mentor pupils preparing for university-level Science courses.
