- Shift: 12-hr Variable

- Guaranteed Hours: (36 hours/week)
- Compensation: Based on experience (Negotiable)
Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers high-quality patient-centered respiratory care aligned with department needs and in accordance with state and specialty standards. As an integral member of the patient care team the Respiratory Therapist performs diagnostic tests therapeutic procedures and monitors patients on invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform and document patient assessments including breath sounds airway patency and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for and response to respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory therapies such as oxygen delivery aerosol medication and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways.
- Initiate monitor and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient therapeutic responses and promptly notify providers/intervene in case of adverse reactions.
- Assist in transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
- Respond to emergent situations ensuring airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation.
Qualifications:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) credential.
- Associate Degree or Vocational School graduate in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
