Job Title: Phlebotomist Per Diem (Day & Night Shifts)
Location: Shasta Regional Medical Center California
Position Summary: Shasta Regional Medical Center is seeking experienced and reliable Phlebotomists to join our Per Diem Laboratory Pool for both day and night shifts. The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting blood and specimen samples accurately and efficiently ensuring patient comfort safety and proper specimen handling in accordance with hospital and laboratory standards.
Key Responsibilities: -
Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture on patients of all age groups.

Verify patient identity and ensure specimens are labeled accurately.

Collect and prepare specimens for transport or analysis according to established protocols.

Maintain specimen integrity by following proper collection handling and storage procedures.

Communicate effectively with nursing and lab staff to prioritize stat and timed draws.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of phlebotomy stations and equipment.

Document collections and update patient records in the hospital EMR and LIS systems.

Adhere to all hospital infection control safety and patient confidentiality policies.
Qualifications: -
California CPT-1 Phlebotomy Technician Certification - required per state regulation

BLS (AHA) certification - required
-
High school diploma or GED - required

Minimum 1 year of recent hospital or clinical phlebotomy experience - preferred

EPIC EMR or similar LIS system experience - preferred

Strong communication accuracy and patient interaction skills required.
