Job Title: EKG Tech Per Diem (Day & Night Shifts)
Location: Shasta Regional Medical Center California
Position Summary: Shasta Regional Medical Center is seeking skilled and detail-oriented EKG Technicians to join our Per Diem Diagnostic Pool for both day and night shifts. The EKG Tech performs electrocardiographic testing procedures to assist in the diagnosis and monitoring of cardiovascular conditions while ensuring patient comfort safety and accuracy in all recordings.
Key Responsibilities: -
Perform routine and stat electrocardiograms (EKGs) on inpatients and outpatients.

Prepare patients for testing explaining procedures clearly and ensuring privacy.

Attach and remove electrodes ensuring accurate placement for optimal tracing.
-
Recognize and promptly report abnormal rhythms or significant changes to nursing and medical staff.

Maintain and clean equipment; ensure proper operation and calibration.

Accurately label and transmit EKG results to the appropriate physician or EMR system.

Assist with cardiac monitoring setup and telemetry placement as directed.

Adhere to infection control patient safety and confidentiality policies.
Qualifications: -
High school diploma or GED - required

Completion of an EKG Technician training program or equivalent hospital experience - required

BLS (AHA) certification - required

Minimum 1 year of recent EKG or cardiac monitoring experience in a hospital setting preferred

Knowledge of cardiac anatomy physiology and rhythm interpretation required

EPIC EMR and telemetry monitoring experience preferred
