Role Summary:

The Project Finance & Commercial Operations Manager will oversee the financial and commercial aspects of ongoing projects including budgeting forecasting purchase orders and change order management. This role ensures that project financials are accurate compliant and aligned with company policies while supporting project managers and leadership in decision-making and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Financial Management:

Develop monitor and manage project budgets forecasts and cash flows.

Track project costs against budgets and provide variance analysis and reporting.

Support project managers in financial planning profitability analysis and cost control.

Prepare periodic project financial reports and dashboards for leadership review.

Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes related to project accounts.

Purchase Order (PO) Management:

Create track and maintain Purchase Orders (POs) in the ERP or financial system.

Ensure all POs are aligned with project budgets and approved in accordance with company policy.

Coordinate with procurement vendors and project teams to resolve discrepancies or delays.

Maintain up-to-date PO logs and ensure timely invoice processing and payments.

Change Order Management:

Review and manage project change orders including scope schedule and cost implications.

Ensure all change orders are properly documented justified and approved.

Update budgets and forecasts to reflect approved changes.

Communicate financial impacts of change orders to project stakeholders and management.

Compliance & Governance:

Ensure adherence to financial contractual and audit requirements.

Maintain documentation for project financials POs and change orders for audit readiness.

Support internal and external audit activities related to project finances.

Collaboration & Support:

Work closely with project managers procurement finance and operations teams.

Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decisions.

Contribute to process improvements for project financial controls and reporting.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration or related field (MBA or CPA/CMA preferred).

6 8 years of experience in project finance commercial operations or project controls.

Strong understanding of financial reporting budgeting and cost control principles.

Experience managing POs invoices and change orders (ERP experience such as SAP Oracle NetSuite or MS Dynamics preferred).

Excellent analytical organizational and communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.

Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Preferred Experience:

Experience in construction engineering infrastructure or technology projects.

Familiarity with contract management and project accounting standards.

Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (e.g. MS Project Primavera).
