DescriptionSummary:
The HVAC Journeyman installs operates maintains and repairs HVAC systems and related equipment in industrial and institutional facilities. This role also provides leadership to less experienced staff and ensures compliance with safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect operate and maintain HVAC systems including chillers boilers generators and associated equipment.
Performpreventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC and related systems.
Monitor and troubleshoot control systems (pneumatic DDC hybrid) and adjust building management systems.
Respond to service calls for temperature and general repairs.
Install assemble and align HVAC components; connect piping and wiring.
Diagnose and repair malfunctioning systems; replace defective parts.
Maintain accurate logs and documentation.
Supervise assigned staff ensuring adherence to policies and safety standards.
Qualifications:
Certified/Registered Journeyman; valid drivers license.
Experience: Minimum 5 years in HVAC and refrigeration service; strong knowledge of DDC/BACnet and pneumatic controls.
Education: Technical school certificate or equivalent experience.
Preferred Competencies:
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
Leadership and team coordination.
Problem-solving and technical expertise.
Customer service and communication skills.
Commitment to safety and quality standards.
Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
Familiarity with building automation and work order systems.
Strong troubleshooting and repair skills.
Other Qualifications
Formal DDC Training and Troubleshooting Certifications plus
